BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – More than 300 Honda associates from 11 countries across the globe converged on Alabama Oct. 3-7 for the 2005 NH Circle North America Bloc Convention. The event was sponsored by Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC (HMA).
During the week-long convention, as a part of the teambuilding session, associates were divided into teams to assemble school supply “care kits” for more than 400 displaced students that are now attending Birmingham-area schools due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The closing festivities included a musical performance by the North Alabama Native American Dance Troup and a live one-hour concert by Alabama’s own American Idol, Reuben Studdard.
Other activities included HMA plant tours, a visit to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Birmingham Zoo, McWane Science Center, Huntsville Space and Rocket Center, Barber Motorsports Park and Vintage Motorcycle Museum, and a canoe/ kayak tour down the scenic Cahaba River.
The convention provided Honda NH-Circle teams from across the globe the opportunity to present new ideas that solve a common problem or improve a situation by using the NH-Circle step-by-step methodology.
These innovative ideas are designed to help Honda achieve and maintain its corporate goal of continuous improvement in every aspect of our business.
