Production line associate and firefighter. Engineer and child advocate. Quality control expert and family business volunteer. A new video series called What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda begins to tell the stories of Honda’s more than 30,000 North American associates – both on and off the job.
Honda introduces 12 associates who believe that building quality communities is just as important as building quality products. They come from across North America, from small towns and big cities, volunteering and working hands-on to improve their neighborhoods.
The What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series focuses on Honda’s commitment to innovation, inclusion, a youthful spirit and respect for the individual – core tenets of Honda’s approach to business that work equally well in the community. In addition, the videos spotlight the diverse career opportunities that exist within Honda, while also showcasing inspiring ways these associates give back.
The series begins with Honda Manufacturing of Alabama associate Eddie Caldwell.
Caldwell is a 12-year Honda veteran, specializing in rear suspension assembly for the Ridgeline, Odyssey and Pilot. He also serves as acting captain for Hollins Volunteer Fire and Rescue, responding to a variety of emergency situations as a volunteer firefighter.
His dedicated community service qualifies him for HMA’s unique HondaStar program, which not only encourages associates to volunteer, but also provides a donation to the non-profit in his or her honor once the associate reaches 40 hours of volunteer service each year.
The What Makes a Honda team is now working on profiles of associates from Honda of South Carolina, Honda Aircraft Company, Honda of America Mfg. and Honda R&D Americas (Ohio) and will share these videos during 91ki.
